I grew up learning to skate in Memphis, Tennessee. I live in a suburb of Memphis over the stateline in Mississippi. I trained for a year in Little Rock, Arkansas. Then moved on to train at the world famous Broadmoor World Arena along side world class skaters and coaches. I was there for about 3 years. I move home to the Memphis area when I was 16 years old due to injuries in my feet and ankles. I did competitive cheerleading for a year in high school. It just was not my passion. I wanted to skate again, but became ill after training hard for the regional competition my senior year of high school. I went to college, very frustrated with my skating dreams, and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Accounting and a Bachelors degree in French. After college, I began working at a local Memphis CPA firm. After work I began to skate once or twice a week. I was asked to coach, and of course, once again, I fell in love with it all over again.
Currently, I work at a local CPA firm, figure skate as often as possible, and coach part-time seasonally. I am trying to raise funds to build a new facility for the ice sports athletes in the area. I am also working on finding sponsors to cover some or all of the seasonal ice rental expenses for our local skaters until a permanent facility can be built.
